Once you have created a form and published it, your data collectors can use it to survey people and submit responses on Collect app.
When your field teams open the Collect app to submit responses, the app looks for any changes which have been made to forms so that the user has access to the latest version of the form. At times, this may take longer than expected. In this article, we will understand why does it happen and what can be done in this case.
Let's first understand why this happens:
- If the form(s) are long with multiple conditional questions
- If there are help images in the form
- If there are monitoring question(s) in the form with multiple rows of baseline data uploaded
- If the data collectors are in areas of poor internet connectivity
Below are some suggestions you can provide your field teams with:
- Move to an area of better internet connectivity
- Force close the app and restart it.
- Switch off the internet before they open the Collect app. In this case, forms will not be updated with any changes made since they last updated the forms. They can submit responses offline and then switch on the internet to sync responses when they have better connectivity.
