Sometimes you want to share a piece of information with all the users together? It can be a happy message or a warning, or some downtime error.
Instead of informing each and every user as and when they encounter some issue, Atlan gives you an option to broadcast your message. The message will be visible on the top blue banner, in different background colors depending on the nature of your message.
As an admin, this feature can come in very handy to you. Let’s see how we can use it.
A step-by-step guide to broadcast message
Step 1: Click the drop-down arrow next to your username on the top right corner.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Organisation’ option.
Step 3: Click on the ‘Broadcast’ tab.
As soon as you click the organization option, a window will open up. It will have two tabs on top. Click on the second ‘Broadcast’ tab.
Step 4: Fill in the details about your message.
Type in the message that you want to display. For example: ‘The updated 'xyz' catalog will be available at 1:00 pm. There is a delay of 2 hrs’.
Set the expiration date of the message. That means, at what time the banner should disappear from the product.
Select the message type. The message type will determine the color of the banner. The type of messages with their color type are as follows.
Info: Blue
- Success: Green
- Warning: Yellow
- Danger: Red
When you are done with filling all the information, just click on the ‘Send Message’ button.
Congratulations! Your banner is now up providing critical information to all :)
